Microsoft is trying to put ads into the GPT-4 version of Bing search, still in the early stages
Sina Technology News, Beijing
time on the morning of March 30th, Microsoft is exploring how to put ads into
Bing Chat, a new search engine based on OpenAI GPT-4 launched by Microsoft.
Microsoft is exploring ways to
work with partners, such as displaying hover ads next to answers generated by
GPT-4. If the user enters the query keyword into GPT-4: "cheapest Honda
car". AI will tell you the answer, and a hover ad will be displayed above
to guide the user to purchase. Another example is when searching for "the
latest medical and health news", when the AI responds, it will first display
the news titles from the partners, and the news link will pop up when the mouse
is moved to the title, click to enter.
For "Microsoft
Start" partners, Microsoft will display the "Microsoft Start"
authorized content next to the answer, so that users can better interact with
the Start content, and the advertising revenue will be shared with the
partners. Microsoft is also considering embedding ads into the chat experience,
where partners can "contribute" to chat content.
Discussions between Microsoft
and partners are still in the early stages, and Microsoft hopes to get more
feedback.
